Have now started to sort through some of the video material I shot out in Majorca with The Tyneside Vagabonds last month. Here is an assembly of clips from day 2, great memories! To enjoy the material at it's best watch it directly on YouTube in HD at either 720 or 1080p.
This was definitely the closest thing I've witnessed when descending on a bike. This was one of my mates descending in Majorca last week, it could have been really horrible, I've no idea how he remained upright and I'm just so glad he didn't end up hitting the end of the wall on the right. Best viewed at 1080 on YouTube.
Some more material from the Tyneside Vagabonds CC trip to Majorca in 2012, a pretty eventful ride this one, especially the charge into Alcudia towards the end, all good fun.
A wet day and I decided not to ride but made the effort to see some of the hardy souls set off in the rain, before getting the bus into Pollensa to do a bit of sightseeing :-)
Finally got round to posting some material from day three of this trip where I went off on a solo ride, hopefully the remaining days won't take me so long to get done now I'm more organised!
Out on a solo ride on 18th March 2012 and decided to take in the descent, followed by the ascent, of the famous Sa Calobra climb in Majorca, sort of a local Alpe d'Huez.
Enjoy the ride and be sure to do it if you are out there, not to be missed!
Very early start this morning (07:00) for the TVCC 100 Mile TT but there was a good field for the race in spite of that. The winning time was 03:57:21 by Jon Sturman, quite how someone can ride a bike that fast for that long I really don't know!
I particularly enjoyed the bit where a stoat appeared and started running around the road which you can see at 07:02 - it's amazing what you see if you just sit quietly and wait to see what happens!
Random musings of a UK based cycling coach. In July 2010 rode the entire Tour de France route starting and finishing 3 days before the pros came through, particularly interested in power based training. Other interests include technology, video recording and editing, photography, sailing, the outdoor life and pretty much anything else!
